Memento Mori is a reminder of mortality. There has been a long tradition of clockmaker artisans who remind us that life is short, and all things must pass. This fine, hand-carved piece draws the inescapable connection between death and time.
The watch display is hand carved from solid Arenga wood with naturally black color. This piece is not stained or painted. You are seeing the natural color of the wood! The teeth are also hand carved from real animal bone. The skull is made with a mastery of skill and artistry. It can beautifully display a pocket watch or wristwatch. The jaw can close and fully encase most standard-sized pocket watches.
This is a great way to display your heirloom pocket watch – and more practical than carrying it around through your modern daily lives.
