Named for Friedrich von Amerling, prominent Biedermeier artist and Austo-Hungarian portrait painter in the court of Franz Josef, this classic regulator has a powerful presence - yet an elegant simplicity of style. The Biedermeier artistic period was an era in Central Europe between 1815 and 1848 which championed the rise in the middle class and common and realistic aesthetics. Biedermeier works influenced later styles, including Classicism and Modernism.

This is a modern clock, designed with cues from the Biedermeier period, which fits equally in Classic or Modern environments. The "three-light" case is delicate, with beveled glass on all three sides. The fixtures are polished brass, and the dial is enamel. The back board is a beautiful burl wood.
