Congreve Rolling ball MM 800 704 00 - 14" x 11" x 15" The Congreve escapement was patented by Sir William Congreve in 1808. This particular example was hand made in England with a Fusee movement. While not a reliable time-keeper, the rolling-ball escapement captures the attention and is a fail-safe conversation starter. This clock is entirely made by hand with each wheel individually cut by English craftsmen. Watch the second hand jump 15 seconds as the steel ball reaches one side of the table. Instantly, the gears move to flip the table the other direction so the ball can roll the other way - all to repeat the action 15 second later. It comes complete with a glass case with mahogany trim. This is a large and impressive clock which is the star of any mantelpiece or coffee table. The Congreve is by K. Mozer.
